The town is far 10 Km from Porto di Rio Marina and it is connected, a lot of times per day, to Porto di Piombino and Portoferraio thanks to the hydroplane service.

This particularity makes Cavo, an interesting destination for summer period but even for brief vacations or weekend, in every moment during the year. In this way, in fact, there is not the necessity to ferry the car anymore, and so to pay other costs for the car. Moreover, the town is connected to the neighbors towns, Rio Marina, Rio Elba, Portoazzurro or Portoferraio, thanks to the public bus service.

Casa Maggiolina is a house that goes back to the first decades of '900, completely restructured this year. The house (central part of an agricultural house) is on the hill, behind it there is a wood and an underbrush, moreover, the beautiful view on the bay before and on Tuscan coast. The house has an independent entry and it is a two storey house; on the ground floor there is the kitchen, and, on the first floor there is a living room with 2 beds with access to the bathroom with shower and access to a double bedroom with sea view. In front of the kitchen, there is a little square with tables for eating and a green area with deck-chairs for relaxing yourself.

The beaches, (Cavo has different beaches with sand or rocks) as Cala delle Alghe ,San Bennato, the Frugoso, are far few minutes from the house, with their crystalline water and marvelous sea depths.

To reach the house you have to go through Salita Sant'Antonio in the first part of the town, it is possible to arrive by car few hundred meters far from the house (if the caris small), then you have to go through afoot for few meters.
